Vaccination Outreach Service – Communications Administrator

About the Role

As a Communications Administrator, you will support the delivery of engaging and inclusive communications for our Vaccination Outreach Service. Working across digital and offline channels, you will help create content, schedule campaigns, maintain records, and produce reports that support community engagement, increase vaccination uptake, and reduce health inequalities across underserved populations.

Key responsibilities

  • To support the delivery of communications across digital and offline channels, including websites, social media, newsletters, brochures, and posters.
  • To maintain content calendars and schedule communications to support campaigns, events, and engagement activities.
  • To draft, edit, proofread, and publish accessible and inclusive content for diverse communities.
  • To ensure all communications align with organisational branding, editorial guidelines, and accessibility standards.
  • To provide administrative support for communications campaigns, including coordinating approvals, timelines, and documentation.
  • To organise events, workshops, and community engagement activities, including logistics, invitations, promotional materials, and follow-up actions.
  • To compile, maintain, and report on engagement and performance data from digital communication channels.
  • To maintain accurate databases and mailing lists, ensuring compliance with data protection requirements.
  • To develop and distribute communications resources, toolkits, and promotional materials for partners and stakeholders.
  • To act as a first point of contact for routine communications enquiries and support effective collaboration across the Vaccination Outreach Service partnership.

Skills and experience

We’re seeking someone with:

Essential:

  • Experience in communications, marketing, or administrative support roles
  • Strong written communication skills, including drafting, editing and proofreading content
  • Experience of producing clear, accurate and audience-appropriate content across different formats
  • Experience using digital platforms such as websites, social media and email marketing tools
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and confidence using basic digital tools
  • Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage multiple tasks, prioritise workload and meet deadlines
  • Good attention to detail
  • Commitment to inclusive, accessible and user-centred communication
  • A proactive approach to problem-solving and process improvement

Desirable:

  • Experience working in or with primary care, NHS organisations, or health and care systems
  • Understanding of the health and care sector’s communications landscape and challenges
  • Experience supporting communications campaigns, events or engagement initiatives
  • Experience with digital content creation and channel management
  • Basic experience using analytics tools to support reporting and performance tracking

About the role

Contract Fixed term for 3 years - 15 hours per week
Salary £25,511-£30,228 full-time equivalent

We offer hybrid working, 2 days at Osprey Court, South Bristol, with occasional travel across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG)
