GPCB Project Manager

This role sits within the GP Collaborative Board (GPCB) Office and plays a key part in supporting a group of Clinical Leads who are working across a range of health pathways. You’ll provide proactive project management support, helping to turn ideas and priorities into well‑planned, well‑delivered pieces of work.

Working in a structured and organised way, you’ll plan, deliver and close projects effectively, managing timelines, stakeholders and deliverables to ensure work is completed on time, within scope and within agreed resources. You’ll be confident coordinating across different people and priorities, keeping projects moving and stakeholders informed.

The role also supports the GPCB Development and Engagement Manager, contributing to the effective day‑to‑day running and delivery of the GPCB Office’s wider activities. It’s a varied post, well suited to someone who enjoys working collaboratively, bringing clarity to complexity and supporting clinical leadership to succeed in their work.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver projects from start to finish, using a structured project management approach
  • Develop clear project plans, including scope, timelines, deliverables, resources and governance arrangements
  • Manage day‑to‑day project activity, tracking milestones, dependencies, risks and issues
  • Ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and within agreed resources
  • Monitor performance against KPIs and maintain quality assurance throughout the project lifecycle
  • Engage and work collaboratively with Clinical Leads, internal teams and external system partners
  • Facilitate stakeholder engagement, including chairing project meetings, workshops and steering groups
  • Manage project finances, including budgets, forecasting, expenditure tracking and escalation of variances
  • Coordinate procurement and contract management where required
  • Produce high‑quality reports, dashboards and updates for senior stakeholders
  • Evaluate outcomes and lead post‑project reviews to capture learning
  • Support change management activity, including communications, training and embedding new ways of working
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, policies and standards
  • Maintain accurate project documentation and audit trails
  • Provide comprehensive administrative and organisational support to the GPCB Office and Clinical Leads
  • Support the GPCB Development and Engagement Manager with the effective delivery of GPCB Office activities

Skills and experience

We’re seeking someone with:

Essential

  • Recognised project management qualification (e.g., PRINCE2, AgilePM, APM)
  • At least 2 years demonstrable experience managing complex projects from initiation to closure
  • Proven ability to manage multiple stakeholders, including senior leaders, clinicians, and external partners
  • Strong track record in risk management, resource planning, and performance monitoring
  • Experience using project management software and tools.

Desirable

  • Experience in the design, development and implementation of NHS projects
  • Experience in budget management and financial reporting

About the role

Contract Full-time Permanent
Salary £38,768 - £46,684 full-time equivalent

Working pattern: 1 full-time equivalent role. We offer hybrid working, 2 days at Osprey Court, South Bristol, with occasional travel across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire (BNSSG)
