About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to manage a new Vaccination Outreach Service focused on improving access to vaccinations for underserved communities across Bristol, North Somerset and South Gloucestershire. Working closely with partners across general practice, Sirona and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector, you will help ensure the service is targeted, responsive and shaped by the needs and experiences of the communities it supports.

You will lead the service using a structured, data-driven approach, making sure it is delivered effectively, within scope and budget, and with a clear focus on reducing inequalities in vaccination uptake.

Key responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate a safe, inclusive and community-based vaccination outreach service, using evidence, data and local insight to target activity where it can have the greatest impact.
  • Work with the Clinical Lead, Educator and wider team to manage day-to-day service delivery, monitor milestones and KPIs, and keep plans on track.
  • Build strong relationships with partners across general practice, Sirona, VCSE organisations and the wider health and care system, supporting effective communication and collaboration.
  • Support good governance by coordinating meetings and groups, maintaining clear documentation, managing risks and ensuring quality assurance is embedded throughout the service.
  • Work with finance colleagues to manage budgets, track expenditure, support procurement and ensure the service delivers value for money.
  • Produce clear reports, dashboards and updates for senior leaders and stakeholders, evaluating outcomes, patient experience and lessons learned to support future improvement.
  • Support change management, including training, workshops and communications that help new ways of working become embedded and sustainable.

Skills and experience

Essential:

  • Has significant, recent experience of managing complex services from set-up through to business as usual, using a continuous improvement approach.
  • Can manage a wide range of stakeholders effectively, including senior leaders, clinicians, external partners and VCSE organisations.
  • Has a strong track record in managing risk, planning resources and monitoring service performance.
  • Is confident using service delivery software, project management tools or similar systems to support effective delivery.

Desirable:

  • Experience of designing, developing or implementing NHS services.
  • Experience of budget management and financial reporting.

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Is proactive, organised and able to identify issues early, make sound decisions and develop practical solutions.
  • Can work confidently and autonomously, while also contributing positively to a team and creating a supportive working environment.
  • Uses data, insight and judgement to understand performance, solve problems and improve service outcomes.
  • Communicates clearly and confidently, building trust with stakeholders and presenting information in a concise and considered way.
  • Values collaborative working and can advocate effectively for the benefits of partnership approaches.
  • Is resilient, adaptable and positive about innovation and change, with the ability to navigate complexity and help new ways of working become embedded.
  • Is committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, and understands the importance of delivering services that reduce inequalities.
