Robotic process automation (RPA) technology mimics human actions and works with digital systems to carry out basic manual and repetitive tasks, releasing significant administrative time.
One Care is working with 13 BNSSG practices on a nine-month trial to review the time and cost savings of an RPA system that files some blood results automatically, in line with agreed practice processes. The GP Automate system processes normal lab reports with enhanced features, patients are sent the results via AccuRx, and their records are automatically updated.
Full evaluation of the project and the usefulness of RPA to general practice will be available in spring 2025.
One Care has negotiated a cost reduction for any BNSSG practice wishing to adopt GP Automate, from 28p to 23p per patient.
