One Care’s 15 Clinical Leads provide leadership and expertise across BNSSG, championing integration between general practice, community and acute services to improve patient care.
They focus on neighbourhood health, the primary and secondary care interface, and the analogue to digital shift with each role aligned to a health priority.
Our Clinical Leads are experts in their specialist area, and their work includes co-designing patient pathways, representing general practice in interface decisions and unlocking new funding streams. Clinical Lead for Children and Young People
Anne leads important work to improve access, pathways and outcomes for children, young people and families across BNSSG. She works across primary care, community services and specialist teams to improve access to diagnostics and strengthen pathways for children and young people with both acute and long-term health needs. Her priorities include expanding access to diagnostics such as FeNO (fractional exhaled nitric oxide), spirometry, phlebotomy and ECGs, alongside supporting improvements in paediatric diabetes care and referral pathways. Anne also provides clinical leadership across a range of programmes including maternity services, CAMHS, neurodiversity, safeguarding, paediatric hubs and wound care, helping to ensure children and young people receive high-quality across the area.
Clinical Lead for Medicines Management
Bryn provides clinical leadership on safe, effective and evidence-based prescribing across BNSSG, chairing the Joint Formulary Group and working closely with other clinicians and local partners to ensure medicines are used safely, effectively and sustainably. His areas of focus include weight management, diabetes medicines and the development of prescribing policies that support high-quality patient care and value for the wider NHS, including prescribing optimisation across primary care in BNSSG.
Clinical Lead for Urgent Care (Frailty)
Carla leads One Care's work on urgent care and frailty, overseeing integrated services that deliver timely, effective care closer to home. She is currently leading the development of a Community Urgent Care Clinical Decision-Making Framework, helping to ensure consistent, high-quality clinical decision-making across services. She also supports pathway development, care home step-up models and stronger collaboration between primary, community and secondary care teams.
Clinical Lead for Neighbourhood Integration
Holly is a senior GP and clinical leader who leads One Care's work on neighbourhood integration, shaping how health, care and community services work together to deliver more considered, coordinated, proactive care for people in BNSSG. She brings energy, original thinking and a strong sense of purpose to her leadership, with a particular focus on frailty, complex care and anticipatory care, and on developing Integrated Neighbourhood Teams that help people access the right support earlier and closer to home. Holly's work spans primary care, community services, voluntary sector organisations and system partners, strengthening preventative approaches and improving outcomes for people with long-term conditions. She supports population health and risk-stratification work, developing neighbourhood models, and brings fresh thinking from her national networks into local delivery.
Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Disease
Josh is One Care's Clinical Lead for Cardiovascular Disease (CVD), leading work to improve prevention, earlier diagnosis and better management of cardiovascular conditions across BNSSG. His work focuses on improving the detection and management of hypertension, atrial fibrillation and dyslipidaemia, while supporting system-wide efforts to prevent cardiovascular disease before it develops. He is also driving improvements in blood pressure management for Black African and Caribbean populations and supporting pathways that improve outcomes for patients living with or at risk of heart disease.
Clinical Lead for Frailty
Karen's work on frailty provides primary care leadership into end-of-life care transformation, working closely with Integrated Neighbourhood Teams and intermediate care services to simplify pathways and reduce duplication. Her main area of focus is in developing more proactive support for frail older adults who are at greatest risk of deterioration, helping them maintain independence and quality of life for longer.
Clinical Lead for Community Gynaecology and Women's Health
Katherine's focus is on is passionate about strengthening relationships between primary and secondary care clinicians to improve women's experiences of accessing care. Her work focuses on developing integrated community gynaecology pathways, supporting the gynaecology Single Point of Access pilot and improving services for women presenting with acute pelvic pain. She is also leading the development of community-based services, including ring pessary provision and other enhanced women's health services, while advocating for improvements that increase access, improve outcomes and reduce unnecessary barriers to care.
Clinical Lead for Community Mental Health and Neurodivergence
Natasha leads One Care's work on mental health and neurodivergence, helping to improve pathways, access and collaboration across services. Her community mental health priorities include progressing the Severe Mental Illness Local Enhanced Service (SMI LES), supporting the continued development of community mental health transformation programmes and ensuring these services are effectively aligned with emerging NHS priorities, including the development of neighbourhood teams. Natasha is also leading the planning and implementation of a sustainable future model for a primary care-led ADHD hub in BNSSG, including the training and upskilling of GPs to support delivery of ADHD assessment and management within primary care.
Clinical Lead for Hospital to Community Interface
Nicola leads One Care's work to improve the interface between primary and secondary care, helping to create systems and pathways that are practical, effective and centred around patient needs. She works closely with colleagues across general practice, hospital services and system partners to strengthen collaboration, improve governance and develop sustainable models of joint working. Her remit includes Single Points of Access, pathway development, digital communication, patient access initiatives and impact assessment of system changes on general practice.
Clinical Lead for Urgent Care
Olivia is focused on strengthening relationships between primary care and emergency departments, improving urgent care pathways and supporting collaborative approaches that enhance patient care across the system. Her priorities include improving collaboration between general practice and emergency departments, supporting urgent admission pathway development and refining specialist pathways.
Clinical Lead for Diabetes and Obesity
Rahab leads One Care's diabetes and obesity portfolio, working across primary and secondary care to improve pathways, access and outcomes for people living with diabetes and weight-related health conditions. She is working to develop integrated pathways for people with early onset type 2 diabetes alongside leading efforts to increase uptake of diabetes prevention and remission programmes in BNSSG, along with exploring ways to better support young adults living with type 2 diabetes locally.
Clinical Lead for Respiratory Health
Robin leads work across BNSSG to prevent respiratory disease and improve outcomes for people living with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). He is focused on developing a neighbourhood-based approach to COPD prevention and optimisation, working closely with practices, PCNs and system partners across our local healthcare system. Robin's priorities include increasing access to smoking cessation support, improving uptake of pulmonary rehabilitation and reducing unwarranted variation in respiratory pathways. He also has a strong interest in the role of digital innovation in respiratory care and is exploring opportunities to improve coordination and consistency of care through technology-enabled solutions.
Clinical Lead for HIV
Sophie is working to improve HIV awareness, testing, diagnosis and ongoing care across primary care settings in BNSSG. She is leading work to improve understanding of indicator condition testing, strengthen knowledge of PrEP and PEPSE services and improve communication between specialist HIV services and general practice. Sophie is also focusing on identifying and re-engaging people in BNSSG living with HIV who are no longer in regular contact with health services, helping to improve outcomes and reduce health inequalities.
Clinical Lead for Analogue to Digital Integration
Tharsha's role sees him helping practices and Primary Care Networks (PCNs) in BNSSG make the most of digital opportunities to improve patient care and operational effectiveness. He is leading the development of a shared digital vision, strategy and roadmap for practices and PCNs, while working closely with other clinical lead programmes to ensure the digital infrastructure needed for service transformation is in place and aligned to future priorities.
