Role summary
To understand the general practice workforce landscape and to align general practice priorities and those of the system, through the implementation of transformational projects which improve workforce challenges.
Key duties
- Enable general practice to feed into the design, development, and mobilisation stages of a model of care that delivers the outcomes of the GP BNSSG 5-year strategy
- Lead the workforce GPCB committee who will feed into the work and have oversight of general practice processes – made up of representatives across the six GP localities and those with specialist interest in this workstream
- Develop and implement a GP programme of general practice workforce initiatives
- Develop a strategic view of general practice workforce data to enable accurate forecasting of workforce requirements, and to align with the NHSE long term workforce plan vision
- Support the GPCB to ensure sufficient resource is available to general practice to deliver the programme plan
- Provide a single contact point for other BNSSG providers, the system workstream programme team, and general practice
Qualifications and experience
Essential
- Knowledge of health service management and delivery, including primary care
- Experience in the design, development, and implementation of NHS projects
Desirable
- Degree level education
- Experience of working in primary care
- Knowledge of strategic workforce initiatives
- Knowledge and recent experience of current developments in the NHS

- Able to work effectively within diverse groups and teams
